The EMCOM approach to WAN monitoring is based on a few fundamental principles.
First, the monitoring device must be faster than the circuit it is watching
in order to capture all the data on the circuit, even as it becomes
congested. The monitoring device must also have compute and memory capabilities
sufficient to process all the data that is captured. And, finally, the
system must be able to capture data at sufficiently short intervals
in order to capture meaningful data. The
EMCOM system's architecture allows it to collect data at 15-second intervals
without introducing additional overhead traffic on the monitored circuit.
This level of detail is critical for troubleshooting by generating true
real-time alerts. It also enhances capacity planning by revealing line
congestion that is concealed in averages when a longer data collection
interval is used. See why 15-Second Granularity is important. Effective
network performance management requires proactive monitoring and control
of a lot of variables in a complex, fast-changing environment. The
EMCOM WAN Management System makes your entire network visible while
also providing detailed data on specific problem links, enabling you
to ensure the health of the whole network. The EMCOM system ...
